This luxurious blue untipped tie comes hand made in Italy with silk from the Como region of Italy. Our untipped ties come 3 fold and lightly lined and unconstructed with superior drape. The construction of untipped ties is a form of art work that only the fines tie manufactures can do, it requires more hand work and is a detailed work, as the hem at each blade must be patiently hand rolled by capable and steady hands. This hand rolling can take from 30 to 40 minutes for each tip of the tie and depends very much on the tie construction. Wear it with a deconstructed suit or blazer for that perfect look.
This tie is cut on the bias for added flexibility, it features a hand-stitched bar tacks while the label doubles as a keeper loop.

The necktie originated in the 17th century, during the 30 year war in France. King Louis XIII hired Croatian mercenaries who wore a piece of cloth around their neck as part of their uniform. While these early neckties did serve a function of tying the top of their jackets, but they also had quite a decorative effect – a look that King Louis was quite fond of. In fact, he liked it so much that he made these ties a mandatory accessory for Royal gatherings, and – to honor the Croatian soldiers – he gave this clothing piece the name “La Cravate” – the name for necktie in French to this day.
